Towards an educational data literacy framework: enhancing the profiles of instructional designers and e-tutors of online and blended courses with new competences

Abstract In the era of digitalization learning and teaching processes, Educational Data Literacy (EDL) is highly valued becoming essential. EDL conceptualized as ability to collect, manage, analyse, comprehend, interpret, act upon educational data in an ethical, meaningful, critical manner. The professionals field digitally supported education, i.e., Instructional Designers (IDs) e-Tutors (eTUTs) online blended courses, need be ready inform their decisions with data, face upcoming data-related challenges; they update enhance profiles relevant competences. This paper proposes a framework for competence IDs/eTUTs evaluates proposal participation worldwide ( N = 210) experience education. evaluation aims at validating assesses (a) current EDL-readiness IDs/eTUTs; (b) extent which captures describes essential findings indicate that are not EDL-competent yet, but proposed dimensions related competences offering solid approach support development.
